Damage potential of Atherigona reversura (Diptera: Muscidae) in Bermudagrass Hayfields: How Bad Can It Be? with Dr. Will Hudson

Dr. Will Hudson is a native of Alabama. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Auburn University and his Ph.D. from the University of Florida where his research involved the ecology and management of invasive mole crickets.

After a post-doc stint at UF in Howard Frank’s lab working with biocontrol of those mole crickets, Will took a job at the University of Georgia as an Extension specialist at the Coastal Plains Experiment Station (now the Tifton Campus, UGA) in Tifton, GA in 1988.

His responsibilities initially included management programs for insect pests of turf and ornamentals and identification of specimens sent or brought to the Tifton Extension Entomology offices. He is also the fishbait entomologist.

Will’s responsibilities were expanded in 2001 to include pests of pecans, and permanent grass pastures and hayfields. Will moved to Athens in 2011, but retains the same commodity assignments.
